I have just downloaded and installed the Messages Beta that will be part of. Working great BUT – not sure just what differentiates Messages from Face Time? . It wouldn't even accept my mac ID when I was setting it up.
May 12, 2012. Messages always hang on my Mac as well, error telling me no account set up etc, and restarting my. Messages in ~/Library/Caches to get it working normally.. ML Messages not connecting automatically to some accounts.

TS4196 my messages beta suddenly stopped working - Apple Support.

iMessage for Mac beta showing one unread message Mac OS X 10.7 Lion.. to see if it would fix as someone posted and that did NOT work in my case.. Its gotten so annoying that I took Messages off of my dock because that (1). I use it often when Im working on my computer and don't want to keep.
